I am thinking of putting up ‘The Ridge’ as an auduobook. Not sure just yet. It is short…horrifying…
and I think one of my best stories to date.
Review of “The Ridge”
By Johnny Eudy
As I begun yet another trip into the world of Tressa Graves, I begin reading, I can close my eyes and see the leafless trees, standing tall and still like the stone columns of Ancient Greece. There’s a nip in the air, I am inside the story, I have become the victim, I feel the fear that is welling more inside me, but at the same time, I can sense the lifeforce draining from me. With each step I summon the strength, to put one more foot in front of the other. My brain trying to decipher all the sounds that echo though out the forest. I have convinced myself that I will escape. I will overcome this evil that relentlessly pursues me, his victim. With each passing moment, I am sure that I will be victorious, and when I think I have figured it all out….?
Tressa Graves is one lady that will keep you on the edge of your seats. I have all her works, I started with The Sawgrass Footpath, of which I read in less than 20 hrs. I just could not put it down. It grabbed me like one of the villains in her books and wouldn’t let me go. And I have read everything else that she has produced. She has the knack of grabbing you by the collar and not letting you go. As you read this story and others she has written, you are pulled into a fantasty world that Tressa controls. She takes over your imagination, pulls you into the story, making it come to life before your very eyes. This short story didn’t take me by surprise. Because whenever I read any of Tressa’s works, I find myself lost in an unknown parallel universe. Where nothing is what it seems. Just when you think you got things figured out. It changes in midstream. So, Keep a watch out for more. You will not be disappointed. I promise you.
Tom Sawyer Review
Tressa Grave’s short story The Ridge is a chilling story, that is reminiscent of one of the more disturbing and frightening Twilight Zone episodes. It offers a terrifying blow by blow step-by-step tale of being pursued that does not let up and shocks you at the end.
